The Talented and Gifted (TAG) program at Medlock Bridge provides enriching learning experiences for the intellectually advanced and exceptionally creative student. TAG is a one day a week, pull out program that focuses on interdisciplinary units that will extend and enrich the Georgia Performance Standards in Science and Social Studies. The program provides high-quality opportunities by guiding gifted students in ways that maximize each child’s unique learning characteristics, interests, personal needs, and capabilities.

The TAG program is also supporting the students and staff as we strive to develop 21st century skills in all of our students. We want to teach and encourage these four areas to develop a child’s ability to be college and career ready. The 4C’s summarize the 21st Century Skills that all students need:
1. Critical Thinking– Students will be able to apply information to make complex decisions and solve problems in innovative ways; understand the interconnections between information remembered and discovered; and form meaning out of information
2. Communication – Students will be able to convey or express thoughts and feelings in ways that others understand; customize messages for audiences to help others understand; hear and interpret the ideas of others
3. Collaboration – Students will be able to work toward a common goal; value others’ contributions and develop a process for compromise and consensus building
4. Creativity – Students will be able to create new ideas that work; think outside the box; and use the engineering process to develop, test, and improve on ideas
